Woodland Hill is the second right turning when coming down Gipsy Hill and connects with Woodland Road. Halfway along the street is Woodland Close.

The developments of buildings in Woodland Hill came after the opening of the Gipsy Hill Railway Station in 1857. As the land on the right hand side of Gipsy Hill (going towards the Triangle) was left to pasture, several terraces developed in Woodland Hill, Woodland Road and Camden Hill.

Before the opening of Christ Church in Gipsy Hill, there were already records of a Sunday School in Woodnland Hill (now Woodland Close).

The road did not take its current name until 1885 when all the names of the terraces on the street where scrapped and the name Woodland Hill was recognised to cover all the properties in the road.

There were two groceries in the road, one where is currently n.46 and one opposite (where there is the Paxton Primary School).

The school was not erected in this current site until (?) as it used to be on Woodland Road/Cawnpore Street.

The North Side of Woodland Hill was occupied by terraced properties, some of which got deatroyed during WWII and others were left to ruin (according to neighbours in the area).
