    The Crystal Palace Foundation in association with the Crystal Palace Park Rangers will be running a variety of activities designed to reflect the history of the Palace and Park, including guided walks, Victorian and Edwardian funfair and amusements, brass bands and more.

    150th Birthday of Crystal Palace Park
    Celebrate with a special anniversary talk by Ian Bevan on the history of the Crystal Palace from its construction at Hyde Park to its move to Sydenham in 1854. Making a special guest appearance at the event is Theodora Waite Great Great Granddaughter of Sir Joseph Paxton and Kate Colquhoun the author of the 2003 best seller A Thing in Disguise the Visionary Life of Joseph Paxton who will be signing the new paperback edition of her book.

    Lambeth Country Show
    Organised on behalf of Lambeth Council by Ubique Leisure Ltd, the show has all the magical attractions of the traditional country show - traction engines, horticultural competitions, a huge range of farm animals and fairground rides - along with craft-based traders, community stalls, live performance stages and arenas. These include the 'Parade of Steam', a medieval siege re-enactment, a falconry display and much more. Since 1998, the Show has attracted between 100,000 and 120,000 visitors each year.

    Lambeth Peace Week Parade
    The forming up point will be Gipsy Hill Police Station at 10.45am. Coaches will then go to Milkwood Road. The Parade assembles in the playground of Jessop Primary School in Milkwood Road at 11.45, departing at 12.15 and processing along Milkwood Road, Hinton Road and Coldharbour Lane to the Peace Garden at St. Mathews Church where, at 12.45, a Tree of Hope will be planted. Following the Parade, participants are invited to join in a Celebration and networking event being held in the Assembly Rooms in Acre Lane.
