Durban Road is a quietish road that runs along the side of the cemetry. The housing stock is mostly lovely red-brick Victorian terraces built at the turn of the 20th century that have subsequently been converted into flats. The flats on this street all have their own front doors and own strip of garden, and those facing south back onto the high cemetry walls which makes for a little haven of tranquility in the middle of zone 3.
The road is well served by public transport - the 322 runs along the bottom of the street, and from the top end of durban road it's a short walk to West Norwood train station. If you walk along the road at night, you'll often find a stray fox taking in the views from Durban Road (a good vantage point to Crystal Palace) but he tends to make himself scarce pretty quickly as soon as he realises anyone else is around.
