Bell Meadow is a picturesque park near the roundabout on Gipsy Road. It lies between the two roads of Gipsy Hill and Dulwich Wood Avenue and is also known as Long Meadow.

The Dulwich Society has planted the young trees and country hedges in this meadow with the help of the Trust for Urban Ecology. The upper part is mowed once a year to encourage the growth of wildflowers. It is managed by Southwark Council Parks Ranger Service (020 8693 5737).

Bell Meadow was formerly known as French's Field after local dairyman Thomas French who used it as pasture for his dairy herd

The cows were then herded up Gipsy Hill to Thomas French & Co's Dairy for milking. The old Dairy building still exists. It can be seen in its original form here http://landmark.lambeth.gov.uk/display_page.asp?section=landmark&id=2708
