53 Westow Street

Emergency services were called to a fire at 53 Westow Street at 2.32am on 13th August 2002. They closed the street and evacuated twenty local residents as a precaution.

A press officer at South Norwood Police Station later confirmed that the police were not conducting an investigation. The Evergreen Trust charity shop opposite Safeway Supermarket was completely gutted by the fire. The newsagent and restaurant either side survived with only minor damage.
